Cascina Tiole is in the countryside village Of ‘Perno’, part of the Monforte d’Alba municipality, located geographically at the center of the Barolo townships in Piedmont.
It extends across 8 hectares of which 4 have been turned in to vineyards.
The dominating grape sort is Nebbiolo – a grape produced in Alba’s 11 south west facing townships. It becomes Barolo after three years of aging in oak barrels.
The winery has been in the family since 1933, handed down from father to son.
Massimo Grasso, took over the management of the winery in 2004 and has invested significantly both in vineyard cultivation and in the cellar with intent to create a product which fulfills the highest standards of quality and authenticity.
“So much labor and passion has gone into each bottle of Barolo!”
-Massimo Grasso, Winemaker
